Geographical data: Sarnano rises at the foot of the Sibillini Mountains, dominated to the west by the northernmost peaks of the chain, which on the eastern side show their steep rocky walls, furrowed by rugged valleys and gorges. The village is located on a hill to the right of the Tennacola stream, on a tongue of land enclosed between the latter and its tributary, the Rio Terro. The territory, mainly hilly, stretches to the east between valleys, woods and cultivated fields. On the slopes of these mountains arise the main streams of the area: the Tennacola and the Terro, its left tributary.
